A world premiere!

At Nellie McClung Charter School for Girls, four girls join the science club to build a robot for an international student robot-building competition. They face power struggles, negotiate interpersonal relationships, and learn how to build a robot; all whilst facing the biggest hurdle of them all – how to survive being a teenage girl.

A new funny drama – or new serious comedy, about this fragile time in a young woman’s life between childhood and being an adult.

“Jayce is thrilled to be making her Shadow Theatre debut! A graduate of the 2010 Theatre Arts program at Grant MacEwan, Jayce has worked to continuously expand her skill set, adding writer, producer, improviser, and hypnotist to her bag of tricks. Jayce has had the pleasure of working with some of Edmonton’s finest theatre companies, including Northern Light Theatre, Teatro La Quindicina, The Maggie Tree, and Whizgiggling Productions. Her outstanding work has earned her three Sterling nominations and a Sterling award for her performance in Whizgiggling’s Fringe production of SALT WATER MOON. Her next opportunity is another new work written by Trevor Schmidt, called CANDY AND THE BEAST, premiering in April 2023 at Northern Light Theatre.
Jayce’s passion for theatre opened doors for her to work in film, TV, and commercial acting and she has also established herself as a professional voiceover artist. She recently recorded the voice of a lead character for the new children’s cartoon and video game, TIME HOPPERS: SILK ROAD and has been doing commercial voiceover work for Shaw Communications since 2019.
Jayce is the owner and operator of Alpha Awakening and when she’s not playing pretend, she helps people heal and level up with meditation, hypnosis, and spiritual coaching. Jayce fell in love with ROBOT GIRLS that moment she read the script and she’s excited to be teaming up with Shadow Theatre to share this wonderful show. ”
